Wave ScanTo reach the full potential of your vision and to achieve maximum results, Dr. Bryan applies WaveScan WaveFront™ technology to further customize your LASIK or PRK Procedure. This is also called “Custom” or “CustomVue™”.

Wavefront technology has been used for decades by astronomers to adjust high-powered telescopes to reduce distortions when viewing distant objects in space. Using the same digital technology on the human eye assists the doctor so he can identify, measure, and correct imperfections 25 times more precisely than with conventional methods.

The Wave Scan

On the day of the procedure, your WaveScan map is obtained. Like a topographical map showing the surface features of a landscape, WaveScan™ technology creates a detailed map of your eye’s optical system. It reveals the way your entire optical system processes light. The powerful WaveScan software can translate this information into a customized treatment and sends it directly to the VISX STAR S4 IR™ Excimer Laser providing a new level of precision and accuracy with the potential to experience better vision than is possible with glasses or contact lenses.
