
Van S. Romine, OD
Van S. Romine, OD received his BS degree from Marshall University in West Virginia, and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn. Before joining Alamance Eye Center in 1986 he served as Assistant Chief of Optometry Services at Womack Army Hospital, Fort Bragg, NC. Dr. Romine has retired from the Army Reserves with 36 years experience and is a Desert Storm Veteran.
Dr. Romine provides general (primary) optometric care, contact lens fitting and low vision care. He also co-manages cataract and refractive surgery patients. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the AOA Low (vision section), the N.C. State Optometric Society and currently serves on the Chatham County Board of Health. Dr. Romine and his wife, Rebecca, live in Siler City and have three children and several grandchildren. They enjoy gardening, woodworking, fishing and sewing and are active in professional, civic, educational and church activities.
